Artist's Description
Classic scene from the infamous Bodie Ghost Town. High in the mountains of Eastern California, nestled close to nine thousand feet high and twenty miles from the nearest tree; it's amazing how at one time there were over a thousand buildings on this early 1900's mining outpost. Over 36 million dollars were taken from the ground and shipped by mule and cart to Sacramento. In the 1930's the ore ran out and so did the prospectors!
